Custom Roll Label Sizing — What Actually Fits Your Bottle, Jar, or Box

The three questions to answer first

• What container are you labeling — and what's its circumference or flat face?
• Where does the labeled product LIVE — freezer, fridge, dry pantry, cryo, outdoor?
• Do you need a rectangle, an oval, or a custom die-cut shape?

• 1.5" × 2.5" — small dropper bottles, tinctures, sample vials
• 2" × 3" — cosmetics jars, 4 oz to 8 oz round bottles

Wrap-around math for round containers

For a full wrap: multiply the container's diameter by π (3.14) and add 0.25" for the overlap seam. A 2" diameter jar = (2 × 3.14) + 0.25 = 6.53" label width. Height stays whatever your container permits, minus a 0.25" clear zone top and bottom.

Which material to pick

• Paper (BOPP-alternative) — dry pantry, spice jars, indoor products. Cheapest, breathes.
• Synthetic (BOPP) — anything that gets wet, refrigerated, or freezer-stored. Doesn't fray, doesn't warp.
• Clear polyester — 'no-label look' on glass, matte or gloss laminated.
• Silver / gold foil — premium brand hero labels, cosmetics, spirits.
