What a step-and-repeat is for

A step-and-repeat is a printed backdrop where your logo (or an alternating pattern of two or three logos) repeats across the full surface. It's the photo backdrop for press events, product launches, red-carpet arrivals, and anywhere someone might pose for a picture that ends up on Instagram. Every logo instance gets a chance to appear in the frame.

How many logos per row?

8ft × 8ft (96" × 96") — logo width 14-18" produces 5-6 columns × 4-5 rows = 20-30 logos.
10ft × 10ft (120" × 120") — logo width 18-24" produces 5-6 columns × 4-5 rows = 20-30 logos.
Rule of thumb: aim for a logo whose long dimension is 12-18% of the backdrop's shortest side.

The offset pattern — brick vs. grid

Grid layout — every logo directly above the one below. Feels corporate, static, safe.
Brick offset — every other row is shifted horizontally by half a logo width. Feels dynamic, editorial, modern. This is what 80% of premium brands use.

The 'stand cut-off' zone — bottom 12 inches

The floor-standing frame that holds the backdrop taut hides the bottom 10-12" of the graphic. Design your logo pattern to NOT start at the very bottom edge — build in a 12" 'padding' at the bottom where the pattern stops before it hits the frame. Otherwise your bottom row is chopped in half at every event.
