13oz solid vs 18oz reinforced vs 9oz mesh

• 13oz solid vinyl — the default outdoor banner. Survives 6-12 months of Texas sun without noticeable fading. Product page: /shop/product/banner-vinyl-outdoor
• 18oz reinforced vinyl — for banners over 6ft wide, hung outdoors year-round, or in high-traffic industrial sites. Doesn't sag, doesn't tear at grommets.

Grommet placement math

• One grommet in EACH of the 4 corners. Always. No exceptions.
• Additional grommets: one every 24 inches along the top and bottom hems.
• For a 3ft × 6ft banner: 4 corners + 2 on the top + 2 on the bottom = 8 grommets.
• For an 8ft × 4ft banner: 4 corners + 3 on the top + 3 on the bottom = 10 grommets.

Hemming — always on outdoor banners

A hem is a folded-and-heat-welded edge that reinforces the vinyl before grommets are punched. Without a hem, the vinyl tears at every grommet within a month. Every outdoor banner we ship has hems on all 4 sides — non-negotiable, no upcharge.

Design 100 dpi at 1:1 scale (or 300 dpi at 1:4). Bleed 0.5" on every side. Keep critical text 4" from any edge — the grommets sit inside that margin.

Design tips that separate cheap-looking from professional

• Contrast is everything at 30 ft — white text on a dark background reads farther than any other combo.
• Font size ≥ 3" tall for headlines. Body copy on a banner is a waste — nobody reads paragraphs from a car.
• One idea per banner. One headline, one CTA, one phone number. That's it.
